Calling tips
Here you will find some very useful time saving calling tips.
Speed Dials
With Speed dial you can enter five of your favourite calling numbers into the EasyCall system. Once this is done there is no need to remember and dial long international numbers, you simply push one button that matches your speed dial followed by the # key (you will need to join the EasyCall club to get access to this great feature - joining is free).
AutoPIN
The AutoPIN feature means that the EasyCall system recognises your phone number so there is no need for you to enter your EasyCall PIN number. You can enter up to 3 phone numbers so you can put in your home number, mobile number and any other number you wish (you will need to join the EasyCall club to get access to this great feature - joining is free).
Last number re-dial
If you want to re-dial the previous number that you called, simply dial '9 #' when the system prompts you for a number to call.
Note that the last number you dialled is stored in our system. This means that '9 #' will work even if you hang up and phone back another time.
Follow on call
When you finish your call, and wish to make another call immediately, simply wait for the other party to hang up. Your new credit balance will be stated, and you will be asked to enter another phone number.
Termination digit
The '#' ( Hash ) key can be used to help speed up your phone call. You may use the '#' key to:
- Tell the system that you have finished dialling your phone number and proceed to the next step immediately.
- Interrupt playback of the time left for your phone call and immediately proceed to dialling the number you entered.
Wallet card
Using our Wallet card creator is easy, all you have to do is add the access numbers you require and your Speed dial numbers. You can then print this out and carry it around with you in your wallet. This is especially useful if you are travelling overseas as you have all the information you need with you (you will need to join the EasyCall club to get access to this great feature - joining is free).
International dialling codes
When using EasyCall you do not have to use an international dialling code to dial an overseas number. Instead, you may simply dial the country code, followed by the area code ( excluding the 0 ) and the phone number. This is extremely useful if you are travelling and don't know what the local international dialling code is.
For example:
In New Zealand the international dialling code is " 0 0 ". This means that in order to dial a number in Australia you would normally dial " 0 0 6 1 9 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 ". However, this would not work if you are in the United States as they do not use " 0 0 " for an international dialling code.
To overcome this problem you may simply dial " 6 1 9 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 " without the international dialling code in front of the number. This will work on our system no matter which country you are dialling from.
Cancellation digit
The "*" ( Star ) key can be used in a number of instances:
- If you make a mistake while entering a PIN or phone number you may use the "*" key to cancel what you have entered. You will then be prompted to enter the number again.
- If you are using a phone which has AutoPIN set up on it but you would like to use a different PIN number simply dial the "*" key while the system is saying how much money is on the card. You will then be asked to enter a different PIN number.
Account balance at completion of call
When you have finished your call, hold on the line while the other party disconnects and the system will tell you how much money you have left. This saves you from having to call in to the system again just to get an account balance.
